Three venues in the city have recently started to hold regular live music nights
The Aloft Hotel in Schuman is set to hold its second, monthly Play & Stay acoustic event of 2013 on Wednesday, 6 February in the WXYZ bar at 19:00.
Doing her stuff this time out is Bruges-based singer, pianist and guitarist Joke Derre, accompanied by Anouk Sanczuk on the violin.Joke promises lots of new songs and this should be a great evening in comfortable, relaxed and easily reached surroundings. One for the diary. Also new for 2013 is music in the lounge bar of the swish Dominican Hotel downtown. This will feature a live session on one Thursday evening each month, with the next one happening on 7 February. Oddly, the hotel is being a bit cagey about the names of the bands/artists on show - but at least they’re trying to get a good thing going. Yet another monthly music night just getting started can be witnessed at Scott’s Bar. ‘The Venue’ at Scott’s will feature live music every Saturday from now on (usually with free entry) and Poland ‘Pop idol’ runner-up Kuba Kesy could be one to look out for on 2 February.
